Product Description
This 2017 wine hails from Costers del Segre, Spain. Winemaker Raül Bobet chose this spot in the Pyrenees in 2001, as it's among the highest vineyard sites in Catalonia, reaching up to 3280 ft. This high - altitude location helps minimize climate change impacts. The estate spans 95 hectares, but only 23 are planted with vines. The rest is dense woods, creating a diverse polyculture that benefits the vineyards and the overall bioculture. 'Ekam' is a unique blend of Riesling and Albariño, full of vitality. On the nose, it offers enticing scents of lemon zest, green pear, almond blossom, and honey. The palate is graced with flavors of dried apricot, lychee, ripe grapefruit, and a hint of saltiness. With a rich texture and crisp acidity, this wine evolves in the glass, impressing with every sip.
To enjoy this wine, first, let it breathe for about 15 - 20 minutes after opening. Pour it into a wide - rimmed glass to enhance the aroma experience. You can serve it chilled, around 45 - 50°F. It pairs well with light seafood, such as shrimp or scallops, and fresh salads. Keep the unopened bottle in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Once opened, reseal it tightly and store it in the refrigerator. Try to finish it within 2 - 3 days to maintain its flavor.
