Naia - Verdejo

In 2002, Bodegas Naia set out to craft a Verdejo wine that captures the finest qualities of the original. Strategically located in La Seca, known as the birthplace of Verdejo production in Rueda, the winery selected the oldest Verdejo vines for this endeavor. This 2021 Naia Verdejo is harvested from 30 - 40 - year - old vines at altitudes between 2400 and 2600 feet. The fermentation process is a blend of modern and traditional techniques. Most of the wine ferments in stainless - steel tanks, while 30% is fermented in French oak vats and barrels. After fermentation, it ages on its lees in oak for 4 months, adding more structure and density. The wine boasts prominent aromas of peach and apricot, with subtle undertones of herbs and toast. On the palate, fresh citrus flavors combine with notes of pear, peach, and pineapple, creating an intensely fruity and textured white wine. It pairs perfectly with roast sea bass or a delicious mushroom risotto.
