Product Description
This 2021 red wine hails from Corsica, France. It's a harmonious blend of 50% Carcaghjolu and 50% Niellucciu, two indigenous Corsican grape varietals originally from Sardinia. The wine is crafted by a sustainable cooperative winery founded in 1975. Comprising 12 wine - growing families across three generations on 1,000 hectares of land, it sits between the sea and mountains. This unique location gives it a special terroir with warm sea breezes and cool mountain air. The wine is named after the Pinia forest, the last large maritime forest on the Corsican coast, just beyond the vineyards. This light - bodied red is ideal for warm weather and can be served slightly chilled. With tasting notes of black fruit and garrigue spices, complemented by soft tannins, it pairs perfectly with light tapas and grilled meats.
To enjoy this Pinia red wine, start by chilling it slightly, which will enhance its flavors, especially in warmer weather. When it comes to serving, pour it into a standard wine glass and take a moment to appreciate the aroma of black fruit and garrigue spices. For food pairings, it goes great with light tapas like olives, cheese, and cured meats, as well as grilled chicken or fish. Remember to store the unopened bottle in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, if you have any left, cork it tightly and keep it in the refrigerator. It should stay fresh for a couple of days, but the sooner you finish it, the better the taste will be.
