Teso de la Zorra - Rufete

This 2019 wine is 100% made from the rare Rufete grape, a native variety found in the D.O. Sierra de Salamanca region of Spain. It hails from the single El Tesoro vineyard, located at 850 meters in the Garcibuey district. The vineyard features slate and clay soils within the stunning mountains of Las Batuecas Sierra de Francia Natural Park, near the Portuguese border west of Madrid. A large part of this area is protected as a UNESCO national park biosphere reserve. 2019 was a small yet exceptional vintage. After a fairly rainy spring and a dry summer, the grapes were harvested on September 13. The wine has a perfect balance of phenolic ripening and acidity, resulting in a vibrant, fresh, and complex flavor with excellent potential for aging.

To enjoy this wine, simply open the bottle and let it breathe for about 30 minutes to an hour. Pour it into a wine glass and savor its vibrant flavors. It pairs well with red meats, pasta dishes, and hard cheeses. Keep the wine in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, store the remaining wine in the refrigerator and consume it within 2 - 3 days. Do not shake the bottle vigorously as it may disturb the sediment.
