Uroulat - Jurancon

This 2012 Clos Uroulat Jurancon wine hails from outside the village of Monein, just 15 km west of Pau. The vines thrive on south and southwest - facing hillsides that form a magnificent natural amphitheater. The area has a warm, sunny micro - climate. Even though it's in the Pyrenees foothills, the lower altitude compared to the appellation's southeast means less frost risk and easier grape ripening. The wine offers an intense, fragrant nose with notes of fresh straw, honey, oak, blossoms, and white stone fruits. On the palate, it's dry yet rich, with highly concentrated fruit and distinct oak flavors balanced by lively acidity.

To enjoy this wine, first, let it breathe for about 30 minutes before serving. You can pour it into a decanter or just leave the bottle open. Serve it chilled at around 45 - 50°F (7 - 10°C). This wine pairs well with a variety of foods like soft cheeses, seafood, and light poultry dishes. When storing, keep the bottle in a cool, dark place, lying on its side to keep the cork moist. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or extreme temperature changes. If you don't finish the bottle, seal it tightly and refrigerate. It should stay good for a couple of days, but the flavors might change a bit over time.
