This 2020 Gruner Veltliner hails from Kremstal, Austria. Michael Malat, son of Gerald Malat, took over the winery and brought a fresh, unique approach to winemaking. He even crafted entry - level wines with rich flavor layers. This particular Gruner Veltliner has a textured body and more mature flavors, making it perfect for cooler weather, unlike typical porch - pounder Gruners. On the nose, there's a hint of grapefruit, followed by lemon curd and light floral notes on the palate. A spicy finish of nutmeg and white pepper rounds it out.
